Fabien Pisani

(Cuba, 1971) Fabien was born and raised in Havana. After studying and working as acomposer and musician, he moved to Paris to study literature and philosophy. For thelast 20 years he has worked as an editor, producer and director between New York andHavana. In 2011 he developed and produced 7 DAYS IN HAVANA, which premiered atCannes (Official Selection – Un Certain Regard, 2012) and the San Sebastian IFF. He isan alumnus of the Berlinale Talent Campus at Guadalajara IFF (2009), and the Screenwriters Lab organized in Oaxaca, Mexico, by the Sundance Institute (2007). Inaddition to his work in film and television, Fabien has dedicated himself to a series ofendeavors in Cuba related to the promotion of its cultural capital and emerging creativeeconomy. He is the founder of Zafra Media magazine and the Musicabana InternationalMusic Festival.Fabien Pisani currently lives in Mexico city where he’s in post-production of his secondfeature documentary PARA VIVIR, The Implacable Times of Pablo Milanés.
