Mercedes San Roman

Mercedes San Román is a writer and director from Mexico City. She earned her BA in Latin-American Literature before completing an MFA in Film and Television Production at the University of Southern California. Aside from her interest in writing and directing, she worked as an on-set sound recordist in short films and documentaries while studying in Los Angeles and back in her native Mexico. She used her experiences as a sound recordist to write the script for Roll Sound (Corre Sonido), which was selected for funding by Porcine CDMX, a prestigious film trust that supports new filmmakers who base their work in the Mexico City area.
