Robert (Bob) Teitel, a Chicago native, launched his career in film during his college years, collaborating with director George Tillman. Together, they produced “Soul Food” for Fox 2000, which grossed $43 million on a $7.5 million budget and inspired a Showtime TV series that ran for seventy-five episodes.
Following this success, Bob and George formed State Street Pictures, producing hits like “Men of Honor,” which grossed $100 million globally, and the “Barbershop” franchise, earning $75 million. Their success continued with films like “Roll Bounce,” “Nothing Like the Holidays,” “Beats” and “Notorious”- the life of Notorious B.I.G.
Bob also executive produced the critically acclaimed “Mudbound,” which received four Academy Award nominations, and “The Hate U Give,” which premiered with a 96% Rotten Tomatoes score. His recent projects include the global box office hit “Bob Marley: One Love” for Paramount, and the Emmy-winning Disney+ series “Crossover.”
