At only 23, Xolo Maridueña has already established his place as one to watch within the industry.
Xolo stars as the title character of BLUE BEETLE for DC Comics. The film debuted theatrically worldwide on August 18, 2023, which was the same day his single On My Way dropped.
This is the first Latino-led superhero theatrical film for DC. It is also the first DC film labeled Verified Hot at 91% on the Rotten Tomatoes Popcorn Meter
Xolo also stars as Miguel Diaz in Netflix’s smash hit series COBRA KAI, an extension of the classic Karate Kid film franchise, alongside original cast members Ralph Macchio and William Zabka. The series is currently on its 6th and final season. Having garnered wide critical praise since the show’s 2018 debut, Maridueña has quickly become a fan favorite, having already earned Teen Choice and Young Artists Award nominations. The show’s fifth season debuted on September 9th, 2022 and was nominated for 4 Emmy Awards, including Outstanding Comedy Series.
Xolo’s first big break came in 2012 at age 10, when he landed the role of Victor on NBC’s hit drama series PARENTHOOD, alongside an all-star ensemble cast including Dax Shepard, Craig T. Nelson, Lauren Graham, and more. Throughout his three seasons on the show, his performance impressed critics and fans alike, earning him an Imagen Award nomination, recognition for “channeling Latino talent” at the ALMA Awards, and a spot-on Latina Magazine’s “50 Brightest Stars Under 25” list. He also won a Young Artist Award along with other young Parenthood cast members for Outstanding Youth Ensemble, as well as a TV Land Award.
Throughout his career, Xolo has appeared in a number of guest television roles including MAJOR CRIMES, TWIN PEAKS, RUSH HOUR, and MACK AND MOXY. In film, he was featured in Dealin’ with Idiots, directed and starring Jeff Garlin, alongside Gina Gershon and Kerry Kenney, and has also performed on stage in “Light in the Darkness” and “Little Red,” both of which showed at the CASA 0101 Theater in Los Angeles.
Xolo’s work has landed him on Forbes’ 30 under 30 list as well as Variety’s 2021 Young Hollywood Impact List, an annual roundup that highlights young stars who are trailblazers in the industry. He was named “one to watch” by People Magazine and was also included in People En Español’s “50 Most Beautiful” list for 2021.
Xolo’s currently working on a music album which will be released in Fall 2024 and recently shot a film, Killing Castro, that will be released in 2025.
